A decade ago, Pirurvik Preschool opened its doors to its first students, launching our IQ and Montessori preschool program. The dream was to foster a child-led educational approach honouring Inuit ways of being, while nurturing each child's natural curiosity and development.

Over the last 10 years, we have trained, and continue to train, early childhood educators across Nunavut in IQ and Montessori principles. We've supported countless families and tirelessly championed for our children grow up rooted in their culture, while developing skills to navigate any path they choose.

We have witnessed our educators become confident leaders and our reach expand to serve more children and communities each year. Every invitation to share what we have learned with other educators represents a collective commitment to excellence in early childhood education.

This milestone belongs to the Elders who generously share their knowledge and wisdom, the educators who show up with commitment and heart every day, the families who trust us with their children, the children themselves, and the community whose initial and ongoing support allows us to offer essential education, and in turn, support other communities across Nunavut.
